We are at the cutting edge of commercial know-how development.
Commercial contracts work is very much at the heart of Philip Lee’s practice. We provide advice on all forms of commercial contracts to private companies, global corporate groups and public sector organisations. Our expertise embraces agency, distribution, joint ventures, sales and marketing, franchising, manufacturing, outsourcing, e-commerce, licensing, advertising and sales promotions.
We are often asked to handle transactions which require the design and negotiation of complex, bespoke, novel (and sometimes politically sensitive) contractual documentation to suit both the specific requirements of the transaction and the broad objectives of the organisations involved. In tandem with our contract drafting and negotiation expertise, we also advise on non-contractual commercial issues such as data protection, freedom of information, document retention policies, intellectual property and consumer law.
Our technology contracts team advises on a wide range of commercial contracts used in the IT and telecommunications industries, from software licences to complex systems design, commissioning and installation contracts. Several of our lawyers have a background in the IT industry and are experienced in the legal and commercial aspects of technology contracts. We are familiar with the legal challenges posed by the latest developments, such as social networking and cloud computing.
We are at the cutting edge of commercial know-how development. By way of illustration, we recently developed an entirely new suite of standard contract documentation in the area of energy performance contracting, developing both model contracts and procurement procedures for public sector bodies to engage energy services companies (ESCOs) to retrofit public buildings.
