Professional Development

Solicitors within the firm are encouraged to present at conferences, to deliver client training and workshop sessions and to publish widely on topics of interest to our clients. Some of these conferences are organised with professional and commercial bodies such as Public Affairs Ireland, and others we provide directly to clients. Not only do these conferences and seminars ensure that our solicitors sustain a very high level of expertise in each of our practice areas, they also allow us to connect with our clients, understand more fully the sorts of issues they face, and present solutions for discussion and application in a more direct, cost effective and meaningful way. The feedback we receive from these workshops is very positive and encouraging.

Presenting at conferences and seminars, as well as publishing articles, is an important part of professional development for our solicitors as it enables them to deepen their knowledge of specific issues in their fields of practice.

Solicitors within the firm regularly attend conferences on current legal and policy developments. By way of follow-up, and to ensure the maximum benefit is obtained from the conference, the Solicitor is in turn asked to present an in-house lunchtime seminar to discuss the legal topic and the issues it raises for our clients. These follow-on internal seminars are an effective way to ensure that the whole firm is kept abreast of current legal and policy developments, thereby equipping all our lawyers to improve the quality and speed in delivering client services.

Following particularly relevant conferences, we will often issue client bulletins and incorporate up-to-date legal and policy information in our quarterly and annual client newsletters, to ensure that our clients also obtain the full benefit from our training sessions.
