New EU Procurement Thresholds

Every 2 years the European Commission revises the value of the EU procurement thresholds.
On 30 November 2011, Commission Regulation (EU) No 1251/2011 was adopted setting out the new thresholds to apply from 1 January 2012.

The changes to the thresholds are as follows:

Threshold applicable to all central government departments and offices, local and regional authorities and other public bodies.

Threshold applicable to contracts awarded by central government authorities listed in Annex IV and covered by the Government Procurement Agency (GPA).

Threshold applicable to contracts awarded by other contracting authorities, including local and regional authorities and bodies governed by public law (outside of the Utilities sector).
