Gavin recently joined the firm from another leading Dublin firm where he was head of tax and had been responsible for setting up the tax practice. Prior to this he worked in London for a number of years with a "big 4" accountancy practice and a subsequently with a large London law firm.

Gavin advises the firm's clients on tax law issues in corporate transactions, tax planning and tax litigation. He has wide ranging expertise in corporate law and commercial transactions, corporation tax, income tax, capital gains tax, stamp duty, value added tax and Revenue enquiries. Gavin regularly advises on the tax and commercial aspects of M&A transactions, corporate finance, private equity and inward investment.

Gavin also has significant litigation experience both in tax and non-tax matters.

Gavin is a member of the Law Society's Tax Committee and a member of the Institute of Taxation's Policy and Technical Committee. He is also a moderator of a number of exams for the Institute of Taxation.

Gavin regularly lectures for the Institute of Taxation and has spoken at two of their recent Annual conferences. He has spoken on numerous occasions at private client and corporate restructuring seminars held around the country. He also is regularly interviewed by the print and spoken media on various tax issues.
