Murrough joined Philip Lee’s litigation and dispute resolution team in July 2010.

He previously worked with a large corporate law firm and while there was seconded to the Office of Public Works where he acted as in-house counsel for a period of one year.

He has extensive experience in all areas of commercial litigation and dispute resolution procedures including conciliation and arbitration with a particular emphasis on construction disputes. He is also experienced in all areas of litigation acting for both plaintiffs and defendants in all courts and has a particular expertise in the areas of personal injury, medical negligence, professional indemnity, employer’s liability, public liability, product liability, recovery and material damage claims.

Murrough advises and represents a number of local authorities servicing their litigation needs, from prosecutions under regulatory legislation, to their defence work, injunctions, judicial review proceedings and proceedings under the Waste Management and Planning and Development Acts.

Murrough also has significant employment law experience and advises clients, in both the private and public sector, on their contractual rights and all aspects of employment law legislation. He represents employers in disputes with employees and former employees in courts and tribunals at all levels including the Rights Commissioner Service, the Labour Court, the Employment Appeals Tribunal, the Equality Tribunal and the civil courts. He advises clients on issues arising in the context of their relationship with staff including disciplinary investigations and proceedings.

Murrough is also currently a Board member and Director/Secretary of The National Children's Hospital.
