Jonathan Kelly heads the team at Philip Lee, which has been highly active in project finance. Recent work includes advising Aqua Comms on the financing of the $300m America Europe Connect project.
Commercial, corporate and M&A
Philip Lee’s developing mid-market practice recently hired public M&A specialist Ita O’Sullivan. Practice head Andreas McConnell and recently promoted partner Eoghan Doyle are recommended for work with medical devices start-ups. Jonathan Kelly has been advising Ryanair on its largest ever share buyback.
Philip Lee’s expertise in handling public sector construction projects was again in evidence, with the ‘insightful’ Kerri Crossen advising the National Development Finance Authority on three school accommodation projects. Disputes specialist Clare Cashin shows ‘phenomenal attention to detail’ and is also highlighted as the only next generation lawyer in the sector.
Philip Lee has a strong public sector practice and recently earned panel appointments with the HSE and An Bord Pleanála. Practice head Damien Young and Ann Henry recently represented the Irish Data Protection Commissioner before the European Court of Justice in proceedings relating to the transfer of data from Europe to the US.
EU and competition
Philip Lee’s team is led by founding partner Philip Lee, who is well known for advising public bodies on the competition and state aid aspects of procurement matters. The team also handles competition litigation and merger clearance work for clients such as Ryanair.

Energy and natural resources
