Aoife is a consultant and leads our immigration group. Aoife offers corporate clients a comprehensive business immigration service ranging from advice on immigrant investor and entrepreneur visas, employment permits to family immigration permissions and naturalisation applications. She and her team work closely with our employment and corporate departments, advising on all corporate immigration matters.
Aoife is also a member of the litigation and dispute resolution team as well as the planning, environmental and regulatory group. She specialises in regulatory advice and public administrative law and has particular experience both prosecuting and defending judicial reviews and statutory appeals in the Superior Courts.
Aoife has advised a range of public sector bodies, non-governmental organisations and private clients including developers and members of the energy, advertising and security sectors in Ireland. Her work involves advising clients on a range of administrative, regulatory and corporate matters concerning both domestic and EU law. Aoife regularly advises public bodies on issues of fair procedures and sound decision making processes and procedures. She also provides support to clients on matters of statutory interpretation and the legislative drafting process including in respect of the interaction between domestic and EU law.
In addition, Aoife specialises in freedom of information law and is a designated trainer on the freedom of information multi-supplier training framework of the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform. She advises on access to information on the environment and public participation / consultation procedures under the Aarhus Convention and related EU and domestic law provisions.
Prior to joining Philip Lee in 2015, Aoife was a practising barrister for over 6 years acting primarily in judicial review, regulatory and immigration matters. Aoife has extensive advocacy experience representing clients before the Courts and before administrative, statutory and quasi-judicial tribunals and appeals bodies. Aoife has lectured on the King’s Inns advanced diploma in immigration and asylum law course.
