John is a senior associate solicitor in the property department of Philip Lee having joined the firm in 2016.

John has extensive experience in all aspects of property transactions acting for both state agencies and private clients in the acquisition and disposal of commercial, retail and residential property including any associated financing.

John has acted for clients in the acquisition and subsequent development of commercial and residential property and receivers and liquidators in the disposal of property. John also has considerable experience in landlord and tenant matters having acted for several years for a leading international food retail business in various acquisitions and management of its existing real estate holdings.

    • Acting as panel solicitor for various banks in taking security over a number of commercial and residential properties.
    • Acting for the Industrial Development Agency (IDA) in key large scale projects.
    • Advising the Port of Cork Company the redevelopment of its port at Ringaskiddy Cork as part of a strategic development project to overcome existing physical constraints in handling larger vessels and to adapt to the changing nature of port activities.
    • Acting for the HSE in the acquisition of a number of hospital/care facilities from another state organisation.
    • Forming part of the team advising the National Development Finance Agency on all property elements involved in the fifth schools bundles PPP.
    • Acting for Bord Bia in acquiring office space in Dublin 1.
    • Routinely acting for Camile Thai, a leading online delivery restaurant in the leasing and sub-leasing of prime retail space nationwide; and
    • Acting for a discount retailer Mr. Price in the acquisition of retail outlets and warehousing nationwide.
