The firm has a long history of involvement in the energy sector:

  • advising the state in relation to the rollout of the east west interconnector
  • advising a multiplicity of renewable developers on the rights they are entitled to under the European Renewables Directive and the various domestic instruments seeking to implement the European promotion of renewable energy
  • extensive knowledge of the fossil fuel industries of coal and oil as well as the specifics of innovation and energy efficiency

In the broadcasting sector we have advised from the earliest days, independent radio stations and film producers on the application of the European and domestic law, including competition and state aid issues. We advised the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland in relation to its duties and entitlements under the domestic broadcasting legislation.

On food law we advise several food manufacturers as well as Bord Bia.
