Episode 9 features our ninth guest Alice Mansergh, Tourism Ireland chief executive. Mansergh reveals her unconventional career path from an arts degree to senior roles in technology and, ultimately, to leading the State body responsible for marketing the island of Ireland overseas.
Mansergh, who spent more than 19 years with Google and previously worked with Fáilte Ireland, took up her current role and has a clear objective: growing tourism revenue from €6bn to €10bn in the coming years.
In the episode, she reflects on the challenges of moving from the tech sector into tourism and the scepticism she encountered when applying for a position on the board of Fáilte Ireland.
