Wellness

We have always taken a holistic approach to the working week. The firm is a huge advocate of employee wellbeing. We have a dedicated Wellness Committee that has created a programme of activities to make sure to counterbalance the realities of deadlines with opportunities for reflection.  The concept of the programme is to promote physical, mental and nutritional health in the firm.

Sport also plays a significant role in our lives here at Philip Lee.  Our sport group advise many public and private entities in the health and sport sectors.  We are very conscious of the relationship between sport and better physical and mental health. Our people are avid sport supporters and the firm engages in many sporting activities.  Rugby being a particular favourite!

Training and Knowledge Management  

We have invested heavily in technological solutions to ensure developments in the law, thought leadership, legal practice and advice are captured and disseminated throughout the firm. A Knowledge Management (KM) system has been developed which is tailored to best meet the needs of our individual practice areas to ensure they can access latest legal developments. The KM system provides a common platform that streamlines the process of accessing and using essential “Know How” from a mixture of internal and online information resources. The solution integrates with our internal databases including a Know How database and Library Management system. It also delivers a common approach to searching over 30 online information resources including a large number of Irish resources.

Consistent with our ethos of recruiting and training “best in class lawyers”, we also operate an inhouse training programme managed by a dedicated Training & Knowledge Management Executive, Nicholas Makin. Under Nick’s stewardship, each department within the firm is required to develop and implement training for all team members, with individual topics typically being the subject of seminars delivered by individual teams members on a regular and co-ordinated basis.

Philip Lee run very successful 10 week summer internship programmes. We are interested in all graduates and undergraduates.  The programme itself gives students an excellent sense of what it is like to work as a trainee and ultimately as a lawyer in a leading commercial law firm. Interns will be introduced to the work of the firm and will be an involved member of the team on various projects. Our trainees, associates and partners give support and mentoring to help students make decisions about their future careers.

A position has arisen within Philip Lee’s IT Department for an IT System Administrator who, working along with the existing IT Team will manage and support the firm’s ICT Infrastructure, services and software portfolio.

This position will initially be a 12 Month contract which may lead to a permanent position.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a background of IT support and systems management in a mid-sized company, preferably in the legal services sector.

Key Responsibilities

(Key responsibilities include, but may not be limited to):

  • Day to day support of the ICT Infrastructure including mobiles, desktop, laptops, printers, servers, switches, phones, storage, and security.
  • Desktop and application support: Windows 7 & Windows 10, and associated software applications.
  • Installing, configuring and troubleshooting computer hardware, operating systems and applications.
  • Managing 1st and 2nd level support calls (both local and remote) from end users via helpdesk system, telephone or in person.
  • Administration and support of Hyper-V, Window Server, Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS & DHCP
  • Administration and support of Office 365
  • Assist the IT Manager with any technical task
  • Work with 3rd party vendors
  • Take charge on assigned IT projects reporting in directly to the IT Manager.

Required Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Good problem solving and decision making skills
  • Good analytical skills to effectively plan appropriate corrective action and escalation of Support issues
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Strong PC and computer peripheral equipment skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Good team work and organizational skills

Required Technical Ability

  • Experience with Windows server
  • Experience with Windows server protocols such as DHCP, DNS, Group Policy
  • Experience supporting Exchange & Active Directory
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite
  • A professional IT Certification such as the MCSE / CCNA is an advantage
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience within IT
  • Experience with networking TCP/IP an advantage
  • Experience working in a legal background an advantage
