The sixth guest of Series 2 is Marian Finnegan, CEO of Sherry Fitzgerald, following last week’s episode featuring Mary Sadlier, CEO of Coole Swan.
In this episode, Marian reflects on a distinguished career spanning more than three decades with Ireland’s leading estate agency and her journey to the top of one of the country’s most influential property groups.
Finnegan joined Sherry FitzGerald in 1996 as its first economist, playing a central role in establishing the business’s research arm. She was appointed Chief Economist and joined the board in 1998, becoming a prominent voice on the Irish property market through periods of rapid growth, downturn and recovery. In 2019, she was promoted to Managing Director of the firm’s residential and advisory division, where she helped to expand the business and lead its digital transformation. Appointed CEO in September, Finnegan now leads an organisation with a 14 percent share of the residential property market, employing more than 360 people across a network of over 100 offices nationwide.
With a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Galway, and lecturing experience at the University of Limerick and Shannon College of Hotel Management, Finnegan brings a strong academic and analytical perspective to her leadership. In conversation with host Dave Burke, she discusses the highs and lows of her career, the evolution of the Irish property sector, and the lessons learned from steering a major Irish brand through changing market cycles and industry disruption.
