Today, Philip Lee is one of the fastest growing law firms in Ireland.
Established by Philip Lee in 1993 as a sole practitioner, the firm has grown from a boutique practice to a full-service corporate and commercial law firm with a staff of over 200.
In 1993 our founding partner, Philip, wrote a book on the European procurement directive which became the catalyst to set up his eponymous law practice. Originally specialising in niche areas of law including international trade, competition and procurement law, the firm has grown consistently through a combination of hiring brilliant people and constant innovation.
In 2020, Philip Lee strengthened its corporate advisory capabilities through a successful merger with McEvoy Corporate Law, further consolidating its position as a leading force in the Irish business law market. That same year, the firm appointed Jonathan Kelly as Managing Partner, marking a significant milestone in its leadership evolution and long‑term strategic growth.
Our flagship Dublin office is complemented by our strategic international locations in New York, established in 2025, and London, opened in 2018. This global footprint reflects the firm’s expanding influence and deep expertise across international trade, intellectual property, information technology, foreign direct investment, and venture capital.
After more than three decades of leadership, Philip Lee retired in 2026, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, expertise and innovation. His vision continues to shape the firm as we evolve and expand both in Ireland and globally.
Philip continues to collaborate with the firm, offering his insight and guidance on specific client matters where his expertise adds exceptional value. His ongoing involvement reflects his enduring commitment to the firm and the trusted relationships he has built over decades of practice.
