Philip Lee was awarded ‘Law Firm of the Year’ at the Irish Law Awards in June 2019. Our property team was also recognised as ‘Property Law Firm of the Year’ and ‘Leinster Property Law Firm of the Year’ at the ceremony.
Choosing the right law firm is now easier. We have built a team that can advise you on every aspect of your business, at home and internationally. Philip Lee is one of Ireland’s leading commercial law firms. We are recognised leaders in several areas of law, including competition, construction, data, employment, energy, environmental, EU, intellectual property, PPP, procurement, real estate and tax.
Our clients are pioneering private companies operating in the world’s leading sectors – most notably finance, banking, food, pharmaceutical, technology, media, energy and life sciences. We act for public sector bodies that have real vision. Each one of our clients has chosen us knowing that we are the firm that will treat their challenges as our own until they are resolved.
But choosing the right law firm is not just a logical decision based on facts and figures. You need to feel the confidence that comes from working with lawyers with outstanding judgement and leadership, who are unafraid of a challenge and who think creatively. You need to feel the connection that comes from working with people who are enthusiastic and who really understand your sector and your strategic view. And you need to feel the comfort that comes with being listened to carefully and advised in the most cost effective and efficient way possible.
You need to feel you are in the right place – to feel it as well as to know it.
We know that the market for legal services is global as well as local, which is why we have offices in Brussels, London and San Francisco. We recognise Ireland’s role as a gateway for many businesses seeking to expand into Europe, or from the Middle and Far East into the US market.
Working with us means you can quickly access a global network. Philip Lee is the only Irish member of Multilaw. With 9000 lawyers and a combined turnover of $5bn, Multilaw is ranked by Chambers Global as an ‘Elite’ international network of law firms. Through our active working relationships with many firms in that network our clients have direct access to an impressive breadth of legal, policy and business resources. Those resources allow us to avail of ‘lessons learned’ from other jurisdictions, thereby saving our clients costs and avoiding risks. This provides considerable value-add for our clients, including the reassurance of international best practice and benchmarking. Both as an active member of Multilaw and through our relationships with many other law firms around the world we continue to expand our reach and range of expertise.
Our office in Dublin is enhanced by offices in Brussels set up in 2006, San Francisco in 2012, and our London office set up in 2018. This growth reflects the firm’s strengths in EU and international trade, intellectual property, information technology and foreign direct investment. We are one of the fastest growing firms in Dublin.
Our Brussels office
We are different from other Irish law firms because we have a permanent European presence and close contacts with key EU officials. Our specialist EU and international trade law office was set up in Brussels in 2006. The Brussels office is active in the field of state aid as well as in anti-dumping and anti-subsidy cases, and represents EU clients in the steel and iron sectors in trade defence cases before the EU institutions.
Our London Office
In 2018 we made a strategic decision to open a London office to offer a wider range of services, build closer relationships and to address the changing landscape in light of Brexit. The office focuses on advising organisations, from a range of sectors, on corporate transactional matters, including private equity, venture capital investments, M&A and general advisory services. Corporate partner Andrew Tzialli heads up our London office.
Our San Francisco office
The firm’s San Francisco office has the resources to provide on-the-spot advice to companies investing in and expanding to the US, or on foreign direct investment in Europe.
In recognition of the strong growth in the firm in the areas of life sciences and technology, we are one of the first Irish law firms to have a US presence on the west coast. Our office in San Francisco provides on-the-spot advice if your company is investing in and expanding to the US, or if you need advice on foreign direct investment in Europe.
We place great emphasis on choosing people that excel academically and professionally. With us, a client enjoys a high level of contact with their dedicated partner and team. This access and collegiality is something we foster and value; something we are wholly committed to; something that is appreciated by our clients.
We are a team of talented and innovative thinkers, who embrace collegiality within the firm and with our clients.
