Philip Lee LLP is delighted to announce the appointment of Michael McGivern as Head of Tax to lead the firm’s tax advisory service.
The tax team at Philip Lee provides an integrated tax advisory service to clients in a wide range of business sectors. Michael’s appointment reflects Philip Lee’s commitment to delivering high-quality, commercially focused tax advice to clients across Ireland and internationally.
Michael brings over 25 years of experience in tax advisory services. Prior to joining Philip Lee, he held senior positions at S&W (formerly Smith & Williamson) and Grant Thornton, where he advised large Irish and international corporate clients across several sectors including technology, manufacturing, services, retail, leisure, and real estate. His specialisms include domestic and international mergers, acquisitions and reconstructions and domestic and international tax planning, including IP structuring. He also has extensive tax experience in succession planning and passing on family businesses.
Michael’s approach is tax technical, pragmatic and collaborative, ensuring that tax objectives are seamlessly embedded into broader legal and commercial strategies.

Michael’s appointment comes at a time of rapid growth for Philip Lee, which recently launched Philip Lee (US) LLP, and has been focusing its growth in such areas as climate projects, investment funds and cross-border transactions.
