After three days of late into the night trilogue negotiations, agreement has been reached on the EU AI Act which may become the global benchmark for regulating Artificial Intelligence systems.
Although we don’t yet have a full copy of the agreed text, we know a significant amount of what it’s going to say and there’s a lot of interesting stuff to unpack: regulation of foundation models; details of supply chain responsibilities and the requirement for a fundamental rights impact assessment.
