Anne is a recognised Irish expert in intellectual property law, technology law, data protection and privacy and in the area of life sciences (pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical devices).

Anne specialises in privacy law and is CIPP/E certified (Certified Privacy Information Professional) (GDPR included). She does both contentious and non-contentious work, including regulatory and advisory work, in these areas.

Anne is also an expert in public and administrative law, with a particular emphasis on regulatory matters, fair procedures, internal appeal mechanisms of public bodies, formal statutory appeals and judicial review. In particular, she is a specialist in large-scale regulatory litigation, having acted for a number of private businesses and public bodies in judicial review, statutory appeals, competition and regulatory proceedings both in the High Court and Supreme Court.

Anne also assists clients on submissions to Government Departments, consultations on legislation, appearances before Oireachtas Committees and in relation to clients’ regulatory dealings. She also frequently advises clients on freedom of information and data retention issues.

Anne has acted for and advised a large number of international businesses whose key assets are intellectual property and technology, as well as for a large number of multinational pharmaceutical companies.

Anne regularly provides training to clients on data protection, data retention and freedom of information, and runs the Data Protection Certificate course offered by Public Affairs Ireland.
