As a partner within the real estate department, Brendan has extensive and practical experience in representing a client base from institutional investors, developers, lenders, semi state bodies to private corporates and private individuals in relation to all areas of commercial and residential real estate.

Brendan represents some of the largest investors and developers active within the Irish market on:

  • The acquisition, disposal and management of property, including site assembly and final unit delivery;
  • The development and financing of property assets;
  • The negotiation of commercial lease transactions for both landlord and tenants;
  • The re-structuring and refinancing of all property assets;
  • Advising private and state bodies in relation to Compulsory Purchase Orders; and
  • Advising, publicans, hoteliers and retailers on all aspects regarding licensing including renewal and disposition of assets.

Recent Work

  • Advising several developers on the acquisition, financing and sale of medium and large scale residential development sites.
  • Acting on behalf of various special purpose companies in the acquisition of greenfield development sites, unfinished estates and apartments blocks across Ireland.
  • Advised local authorities on their statutory powers under the Water Services Acts and Planning Acts.
  • Advises pillar banks and other lending institutions on numerous banking related matters in respect to the financing of and disposition of assets and related securities.
  • Advises various receivers on the sale of large commercial properties and loan books.
  • Advising on the leasing of commercial property to include retail units, pharmacy units, warehouses, offices, coffee franchises, restaurants, public houses and other anchor tenants on property management structures.
  • Acting for several major US film studios, in respect to all property related matters relating to production in Ireland.
  • Acting in the acquisition, finance and disposal of hotels and licensed premises.
  • Advising public sector and semi state bodies in all real estate related matters to include the management of commercial properties and the delivery of social housing.
